As mentioned in the previous point, the origin of the palace must be a Hispano-Roman villa. On the staircase of the house there is a tombstone with an inscription in Latin which translation is like this: «to the very pious brother Festo, of twenty-two two years, Justin».

One of the oldest parts of the castle is a “gate that is about three meters below the” ground, its antiquity is certified by the Roman concrete”.

In the centuries that the Muslim domination lasted, there is documentary evidence that proves the existence of a farmhouse. The conquest took place before the year 1238, because it is recorded that Jaume I gave the town and its castle to the abbot of Fuentclarain 1238. Later, he held the ownership of the nobleman Raimundo de Turis who would sell it, in 1379, the marriage formed by Jofré deBlanes and Margarita de Bonastre that would include it in their territories that formed the barony of Segart. In the building the last king of the house of Barcelona, Martí l’Humà, was lodged in 1403.

It is a powerful construction that was the headquarters of the manor, a state linked to the barony of Segart. Its construction dates from the XIV or XV centuries. Although it has undergone numerous restorations it still retains the hallmarks of the noble construction and part of the defensive elements, such as the crenellated towers. It has a semi-basement with lots of pointed arches and half a point, blue limestone and three plants with all the dependencies of a manor house, with stables, oil mill, noble hall and rooms. Also it is in her the old municipal dungeon. There are indications of possible communication with the church through an underground passage that is currently blinded. Since 1897 it belongs to the Baixauli family.
